Lawn Alert! We are alerting you to a potential Fusarium problem in the lawns. We have had early waring signs of this fungal lawn disease which in many ways is similar to the Red Thread that we saw earlier this year. It will manifest itself in cloud shaped areas on the lawn and may in its more advanced stages have a light light ‘frosting.’ It’s very often known as snow mould because of this. It is appearing largely due to the extreme damp conditions we’ve had. It can also be caused by poor circulation or compaction. We would therefore recommend that you seriously look at the scarifcation and aeration services we offer along with a moss spray to reduce the impact it will have on your lawn. Don’t feed it with a fertiliser as this will only encourage it! With it being so wet this year we anticipate that the moss and fungal growth will be at an all time high so it would be well worth your while to contact us regarding this additional treatments to save yourself a big headache next year.
